I think I did it… I think I finally figured out the highly coveted and secretive spice blend Carrabba’s uses for dipping their delicious bread while you are unknowingly stuffing yourself silly before any appetizers or entrees even come close to hitting your table. If you have had it, you know what I mean. I do not eat out a lot, I prefer to know 100% for sure what I am eating, and besides that, I really love cooking. That being said, and since I am ALWAYS in the mood for Italian food. The few times a year we do eat out, for some reason I always find myself trying to talk my daughter into going to Carrabba’s, and now I know why… it’s the bread dip! It is really just a Classic Italian Spice Blend but getting the proportions correct, now that’s where the challenge is. It is ridiculously addictive and the fact that they only dole it out in small pre-measured portions (and give you a look of you ask for more) only makes it all the more alluring…
NOTES:
● I make this recipe in bulk (x3 of each dry ingredient) and store it in an airtight jar until ready to use.
● If you are invited to a dinner, bring the host a mixture of this in a decorative jar with some brief instructions on note card and you are sure to be a hit!
● Sprinkle the dry seasoning (sans the garlic) over fresh tomatoes or a caprese sandwich with a drizzle of olive oil – YUM!
See below for my take on this Classic Italian Spice Blend, grab some crusty Italian bread and enjoy – I hope you love it as much as I do!
