Here is one of my favorite all-time recipes to make; Whipped Dalgona Coffee. It’s one of my favorites because, even though the ingredients are seemingly simple, using this method yields an unbelievably luscious caffeine kick that also doubles as a delicious treat! πŸ˜‹β˜•

Let’s make this…

How to make a Whipped Dalgona Coffee

First gather all of your ingredients. which is not a lot! You just need these:

Yep, that is all you need for this amazingly, decadent treat…water, instant espresso, sugar and your favorite milk. Here I am using CafΓ© Bustelo instant espresso, cane sugar and skim milk. You can also decide if you would like a hot or cold version. Decisions, decisions…

Making the “whipped” portion

I recommend using a large bowl because in the beginning of the whisking process it’s very watery and will splatter a bit. Into a large bowl just add in the water, instant coffee and sugar.

You can whisk by hand (which may or may not expend more or less the amount of calories in this drink…πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ) or use a hand mixer with a whisk attachment (best method IMHO) or even a stand-mixer with the whisk attachment. Although I think a stand-mixer might be a bit much UNLESS you are making more than just two servings.

Initially your mixture will look like this:

As you continue whisking, it will start turning from watery into slightly foamy, like this:

Keeeeeeep whisking and once your mixture starts turning a light golden, caramelly color with soft peaks you are there! Should look something like this:

Putting it all together

Now all that is left is basic “assembly” if you will. Either pop your mug of milk into the microwave for two minutes to warm or get some ice to add to a glass. Either way, make sure you use a mug or glass that will give you some space after the milk is in to place the whipped espresso. Use a soup spoon or any other medium sized spoon to gather up about half of the mixture per cup and gently place it on top and turn your wrist a bit to get a nice swirled effect. (PS – Full Disclosure – used a plastic bag with a small hole cut into it to get this shape below…)

Lastly, if you have a coffee bean laying around, zest a little of the coffee bean on top of Whipped Dalgona Coffee – adds nice little something extra don’t you think? ✨

Well, I truly hope you enjoy making and sipping this Whipped Dalgona Coffee drink as much as I do. It’s such a nice little coffee “upgrade” and wonderful to make after-dinner, with dessert or for a Tuesday afternoon.
