Queen Bee’s Spice Blend

Spices on spoons ready to make a spice blend

Amazing harmony of flavors…

Having a readily available go to spice mix is a wonderful thing, it really is.  At dinner, most of us reach for salt and pepper…and while that’s all well and good, it can be predictable and even get a little boring am i right?? πŸ’πŸΌ I started using a spice mix that I found online years ago, and over time I tweaked it here and there and finally settled on the mixture I am using today.  Now don’t misunderstand me, I make a ton a different spice and seasoning mixes for different dishes, but this spice mix is an everyday, leave-it-on-the-counter mix that you can use on just about anything and everything.  Trust me, once you use it, you will keep making it again and again and again and again…you get the point. πŸ™ƒ

The best part is: these spices are SUPER easy to find (you probably have them on hand right now) and they are also inexpensive. Win-Win! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ  Keep it handy in a salt shaker right on your counter.  You will be very surprised to see how quickly this turns into your “one and done” seasoning.  So be sure to always have a back-up jar of it in your cabinet ready for refills.

How to Make Queen Bee’s Spice Blend

This could not be easier to make – just gather up all of your spices: sea salt, ground pepper, garlic powder, onion powder (I even throw in a few tablespoons of celery salt from time-to-time – BLOODY MARY’S!! πŸ˜‹)  Place everything in a bowl, grab a spoon or whisk and stir, stir, stir.  You’ll want to make sure you mix it up thoroughly so all of the flavors are evenly distributed.  Using a small funnel (if you don’t have one you can easily DIY by making a cone with a piece of paper) fill a salt shaker. Place the remaining spice mix into an airtight container and store it in your pantry. VoilΓ !

I used the spice mix on some roasted rainbow carrots the other night and they were so delicious – no grabbing for a bunch of spices because this ready to go on my counter! πŸ™‚Roasted rainbow carrotsAnd FYI… tastes REALLY amazing on French fries – sprinkle after right baking or frying so it sticks… yum!French fries with QBK spice mix

That is it – Don;t you just love when the best things are super simple?  I know I do – ENJOY!!

This would be great in a Bloody Mary, too!
